Due to the nature of flash, it having the ability to incorporate scripting into a media - you cannot freely add flash medias to your profile/family screen. The risk of hostile scripting is there, and wisely the MB admins has chosen to keep the security of the game the primary concern. Or rather, the safety of the money you have in the bank for example, not the game script itself of course. Some fuckfaces doesn´t have moral problems with using a flash profile to empty your gaming account for cash, so sadly flash cannot be used without permission. The same goes for semi-flash programs like firestarter etc. They can by nature contain scripting, thus hostile scripting. Gif files (animations without sound are still good though of course). More to come on how to get your flash files approved.
First, let me demonstrate the difference between a gif and a flash file, these two medias are the same, except for the sound. (Obviously Flash has more options that just sound though).

Click HERE to see the flash version It´s just slightly bigger (will fit your screen) and has sound. In this example, that´s the only difference. But there´s tons of more options in flash of course.
In the above example, it didn´t make all that much difference, but in other media´s, sound and interactivity does make quite a difference in my opinion.
If you hadn´t figured it out already, I´m a big fan of flash, and luckily, the mobsterboss.com admins has offered us a way out. They will allow any flash media that has been checked for hostile scripting. This, they have trusted me with, so I WILL check every media, I will NOT make any exceptions from the terms posted below, no matter how close a friend you are, even if you´re in my family. I WILL however, host and approve any media that contains no hostile scripting, free of charge, regardless of you being a friend or a foe of me and my fams in game.
Here´s what you need to do:
1. If you don´t have flash - download it HERE (The current trial version is flash CS3, there´s a 1 month free trial period I believe)
2. Create the media you want. (There´s tons of tutorials out there - but if in doubt, feel free to write me or post on the forums with any questions you should have about using flash).
3. Make sure you create it compatible with flash 8 - not CS3. (This shouldn´t be a problem since you´re making a media, not a mobile interactive game).
4. Do NOT publish the file - keep it in the .fla extension (I cannot check .swf files for hostile scripting with 100% certainly, thus it will not be cleared).
5. Email me the .fla file -

6. Await that I have checked it out - and that I have notified the admins that it´s clean. (The admins will send you an in-game msg when it´s all sorted).
Also, please - utilize the hungarian notation prefix for your coding - not a demand, but a request...
PLEASE NOTE - IF YOUR MEDIA DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY SCRIPTING AT ALL - YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY USE OF THIS SERVICE. IT WILL BE MUCH FASTER TO JUST SIGN UP TO YOUTUBE AND UPLOAD IT THERE. THIS WILL BE EASIER, AND FASTER FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.
Just a few other things - as I´ve got more than a full time job already, don´t expect that your media is cleared after half an hour. I check my emails several times a day, and I will check out your media as fast as I possibly can. There´s no need to send me in-game msgs asking about when I´m done. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions you have about this arrangement, friend or foe, but please keep it serious. Don´t ask me to do the work for you. The whole point of this is to see the wonderfull artists that´s out there doing their thing. Also, I will only check your medias for hostile scripting, I assure you that I´m more than capable of programming flash myself, without having to check your medias for scripting I can steal. That would be beneath me, and I bet that I can find a smarter way of doing what your scripting does anyways.
